Emily Rankin
Deputy Head / Head of Academics
Emily Rankin, Ed.S., was working as a newspaper journalist in Minnesota when she began volunteering as a Minneapolis Public Schools reading tutor and promptly found more purpose and joy in classrooms than at her reporting job. Thus, she entered the field of education, and it's been a brilliant journey. Emily is deputy head and head of academics at St. John's International School in Waterloo, Belgium, as well as a long-time high school English teacher. She is especially interested in appreciative inquiry, professional development, and social justice.
